El asentamiento humano proven\u00eda de haberse llamado as\u00ed a un fundo de 800 hect\u00e1reas sobre el cual se fund\u00f3 la actual comuna.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Durante el Gobierno del Presidente Carlos Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez del Campo, la comuna fue creada por el Decreto Supremo del 30 de diciembre de 1927.  Cabrero es una comuna netamente agr\u00edcola y forestal que se ubicada en una superficie totalmente plana, sin existir monta\u00f1as, cerros o quebradas.  El 75% de sus tierras son arenosas, lo cual dificulta la explotaci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola y lo hace intensivo para el sector forestal, la que se dedica a la explotaci\u00f3n y exportaci\u00f3n de pino insigne.
